This process allows you to play with flavors, adding more or less of each component depending on your taste.

Less Sugar, More Taste

By making your spread at home, you have complete control over the amount of sugar. By using maple syrup as a natural sweetener, you benefit from moderate sweetness and a richer flavor profile compared to refined sugars. This approach not only reduces unnecessary ingredients, but also allows the natural flavors of the hazelnuts and chocolate to shine, giving you a more authentic and satisfying taste experience.

Preparing your own vegan Nutella at home is both delicious and responsible. Here is the recipe:

Ingredients:

- 2 cups of organic hazelnuts

- 1/2 cup dark chocolate chips

- 1/2 cup cocoa butter

- 2 tablespoons of maple syrup

- 1/3 cup cocoa powder

Instructions:

1. Preparation of hazelnuts:

- Preheat your oven to 180°C (350°F).

- Spread the hazelnuts on a baking tray and roast them in the oven for about 10-12 minutes, until golden and fragrant. Stir from time to time to prevent them from burning.

2. Preparation of the chocolate:

- Place the dark chocolate chips and cocoa butter in a heatproof bowl.

- Place the bowl over a simmering water bath, making sure the bottom of the bowl does not touch the water. Allow the mixture to melt gently, stirring occasionally, until completely smooth.

3. Transformation of hazelnuts into butter:

- Once the hazelnuts are roasted, let them cool slightly, then transfer them to a blender or food processor.

- Blend the hazelnuts until you obtain a smooth and oily paste, this may take several minutes. You may need to scrape down the sides from time to time.

4. Final mixture:

- Add the melted chocolate mixture, maple syrup and cocoa powder to the hazelnut butter in the food processor.

- Continue mixing until everything is well incorporated and the texture is smooth and consistent.

5. Adjustment and conservation:

- Taste and adjust the sweetness by adding a little more maple syrup if necessary.

- Transfer the vegan Nutella to an airtight container and store it in the refrigerator. Let it come to room temperature before using so that it is easier to spread.

This homemade spread is delicious on bread, pancakes, or even with a spoon! Enjoy your homemade vegan Nutella!
